Our Favorite Ways to Beat the Heat

Summer in Indiana is hot. There’s no way around it. But your outlook on the heat can make or break your season. You could complain, sit inside, and stay comfy in the AC until it cools down. Or you could lean into it—bask in the sunshine and sweat it out with your friends on your favorite patio.

Our favorite ways to beat the heat: Lightweight linen, cold wine, and enough fun conversation to take your mind off the weather.

Lightweight Linen

Even as we near the end of the summer season at the shop, there are still plenty of hot days left on the calendar and linen is the perfect fabric to take you through to fall. It’s breathable enough to keep you cool while still looking like you cared enough to dress up for dinner.

Here are a few of our favorite linen pieces in the online store right now:

Cold Wine

Enter Diavola. One of our favorite places to eat outside. A spacious patio with sunshade, plus plenty of two-tops along the sidewalk, makes Diavola a great spot to sit outdoors.

The kicker? Half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays. And don’t be afraid to order a full bottle as they’ll cork it for you to take home if you don’t finish it at the restaurant.

Our go-to order: A cold French white wine, mussels, and a red pie—just red sauce on crust. Super simple and light, and it won’t weigh you down on a hot summer day. (We threw in the Truffle Fungi pizza on this occasion to try something new. Highly recommended!)

Fun Conversation

This one’s on you. Grab your partner, your best friends, your family—make an evening of it all. After all, summer only happens every year.
